FAQs

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN collection and custom?

Collection pieces are constructed to fit your exact measurements and are based on a signature House of Deane design. A virtual fitting is included with each purchase to walk you through the measurements needed to ensure the best fit.

Custom gowns include a highly personalized design sketch, custom pattern making, and tailor-made details. So whether you know exactly what you want or are simply after a vibe, House of Deane can make your ideas a reality. Customizations of current or past styles are also possible for those looking to make a dress their own.

CAN WE DO THIS VIRTUALLY?

Yes! With over a decade of experience in alterations and custom work, House of Deane offers virtual consultations and tailoring and can walk you through the entire custom design process.

How long do collection pieces take?

House of Deane’s collection styles take about eight weeks to construct, but we recommend giving yourself a three- to four-month buffer. If you need a rush order, please reach out via the contact page.

How long do alterations take?

Alterations typically take two to four weeks and include two to three fittings to ensure the best fit.

How much do alterations cost?

Most wedding gown alterations fall between $650 and $850. Prices vary. Please book a complimentary consultation for an estimate. There is a minimum of $400 for bridal customers. See our policy.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Any special undergarments you plan on wearing with your gown should be worn to your appointments. You don’t necessarily need the shoes you plan on wearing, but we need to know the height of the heels.
